The Student Connection Program, part of the Youth Employment
Strategy, aims to provide young people with valuable,
hands-on work experience to help them make the challenging
school-to-work transition. A recent survey indicated that
97% of young people who participated in the program believe
that their experience with SCP made them more employable.
Post-secondary students, or recent college or university
graduates, receive special training to become Student
Business Advisors (SBAs). These SBAs provide SCP training
and services to Canadian business people, helping them
understand today's information technology and how it can
benefit their business. SBAs are typically computer
science students interested in the Internet, but many
administrative centres may have opportunities for students
who study business, marketing, communications, administration
and education.
If you are interested in joining the SCP team,
and would like information on the employment opportunities
in your area, please contact the administrative centre
nearest you by calling 1-888-807-7777.
