This is a fantastic way to celebrate & increase awareness about our state’s 12 wilderness areas and 5 study areas, the NC Sierra Club is offering a certificate and limited edition NC Wilderness Act 30th Anniversary patch to any and all who visit all of these areas.
50 years ago, the Wilderness Act of 1964 protected two wilderness areas in North Carolina.
30 years ago, the North Carolina Wilderness Act designated seven new wilderness areas and protected five more as study areas.
